Pencil Portraiture

Like most young artists, the very first work I ever did was in pencil, and it remains my favorite medium to this day. During my first year teaching, which was in the height of the COVID lockdown, I started seriously getting back into art, which started, appropriately, with pencil. I still do commissioned pencil work, often family portraits, and I use my sketchbook every day.
